Funding opportunities for the summer

Recently, there have been some calls for proposals opened on the European level that might be interesting for those working with grassroots sport. Find below some information about them.

The European Commission has launched two new Calls for Proposals in the past weeks.

The call entitled “Promotion of European values through sport initiatives at the municipal level” aims at supporting organisations that promote sport initiatives at local level with the goal of disseminating the positive values of sport.

The call named “Exchanges and mobility in sport” aims at contributing to the efforts of sport organisations by supporting the learning mobility of their staff. The deadline for both calls is the 26th of July 2018 and granted projects need to be implemented between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2020, under the condition that they may not start later than 31 March 2019. More information on the first call can be found here and on the second one here.

In the framework of the “Third Programme of the Union's action in the field of health (2014-2020)” a call for proposals has been opened for projects that focus on the Implementation of best practices to promote health and prevent non-communicable diseases and to reduce health inequalities. The call includes two different topics, and one of them is physical activity-focused. The topic entitled “Transferring the Swedish Physical Activity on Prescription Initiative to other countries” aims at transferring and/or scaling-up the existing Swedish practice in using physical activity as a prescribed “medication”. If you are interested in submitting a project proposal in this topic, here you can find some useful information about the process. The deadline for submitting your proposal is 13 September 2018.
