ENGSO LOGO Poem
An azure bridge and a yellow star          There are those who might ask, why they are          The ENGSO logo, and what they mean          The answer's our aims, our hopes, our dream                    The bridge it will help span many a gap          People may cross without fear or mishap          It will link all the nations from every place          No matter the colour, the gender or race                    A star is a symbol, it shines in the sky          It's something to aim for no matter how high          From beginners to veterans there's always a place          For all who take part and join in the race                    At the ENGSO Assemblies we are but a few          Of the many millions, who want us to do          Our best representing their wishes and dreams          for the future of sport and all that it means                    So welcome dear friends both the old and the new          Your commitment ot ENGSO will see us get through          Our tasks, which are many with objectives so high          But our bridge it will help reach that star in the sky.

Guidelines for support to members in need

Adopted by the ENGSO Executive Committee, Lisbon, January 22, 2000

Confirmed in Belgrade, April 16, 2004 and Up-dated in Riga, December 11, 2005

In order to promote an effective co-operation of member organisations in ENGSO and also enable those members to actively contribute to the development of ENGSO policies, events and activities, who at a specific time find themselves unable to do so, for financial reasons, the ENGSO Executive Committee has decided on the following guidelines in terms of criteria to be fulfilled, if financial support is to be granted to members in need:

1. General criteria:

1.1       Any financial support granted to a member in need by ENGSO, as a voluntary subsidy out of the ENGSO budget, shall only be used for:

1.1.1  the development of a special action or  project of co-operation (e.g. with an
             educational effect)

1.1.2  the costs of participation in an ENGSO General Assembly, and/or FORUM and/or
          ENGSO Youth Assembly;

1.1.3  the coverage of expenses incurred due to a special mission on behalf of ENGSO, if such mission had been officially assigned to the ENGSO delegate by the Executive Committee;

1.1.4  the payment of membership fees for the current year (in an exceptional case)

1.2       The applying member organisation is expected to cover part of the costs (related to 1.1.1 and 1.1.3 and, eventually also 1.1.2, by own funds. The principle of a self-contribution by the respective member to the total cost in each case (1.1.1 and 1.1.3, eventually, 1.1.2) shall be strictly applied.

2. Criteria to be fulfilled by members applying for support:

2.1           The member country should not be more than 12  months in arrears with the membership fees.

2.2           The respective country should have shown an active interest in co-operation  and be prepared for active involvement and participation in ENGSO policies and activities.

2.3           The individual representatives will be expected to attend in full the ENGSO event for which their associations have received a subsidy and to submit activity reports or an evaluation of results to the ENGSO Secretariat.

3. Criteria for implementation:

3.1       As a rule – unless decided otherwise by the ExCom - applications must be submitted officially in writing by the member organisation (not by any individual person !!!); on receipt of the invitation for the event.

3.2       Each - case-to-case - application must include information on how the respective member organisation intends to improve its financial situation in the coming years.

3.3           A limited budget amount shall be fixed by the ExCom each year, to be assigned as support to members in need.

3.4           The financial support by ENGSO shall never be paid out in cash, but as a reimbursement of proved costs or as direct coverage, respectively, e.g. for accommodation and/or ticket.

3.5           All financial transfers by ENGSO shall exclusively be made to the national member organisation.
