ENGSO LOGO Poem
An azure bridge and a yellow star          There are those who might ask, why they are          The ENGSO logo, and what they mean          The answer's our aims, our hopes, our dream                    The bridge it will help span many a gap          People may cross without fear or mishap          It will link all the nations from every place          No matter the colour, the gender or race                    A star is a symbol, it shines in the sky          It's something to aim for no matter how high          From beginners to veterans there's always a place          For all who take part and join in the race                    At the ENGSO Assemblies we are but a few          Of the many millions, who want us to do          Our best representing their wishes and dreams          for the future of sport and all that it means                    So welcome dear friends both the old and the new          Your commitment ot ENGSO will see us get through          Our tasks, which are many with objectives so high          But our bridge it will help reach that star in the sky.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of ENGSO, we have the pleasure of inviting you to our 14th  General Assembly, which will take  place  in  St.  Paul’s  Bay,  Malta,  May  5   7,  2006,  hosted  by  our  member,  Malta  Olympic Committee.

Due  to  the  fact  that  there  is  an  indeed  very  significant  issue  to  be  resolved,  and  that  is  the registration  of  ENGSO  in  House  of  Olympic  Sports  of  Comi national  olympique  et  sportif français, in Paris, France, it will be necessary to convene the Extraordinary Assembly as the only body entitled to make such decisions according to the ENGSO Statutes, before the Ordinary 14th

General Assembly.

At  the  last  ENGSO  ExCom  Meeting,  it  was  decided  that  the  Extraordinary  and  the  Ordinary

General Assembly be held according to the programme enclosed.

You will find that this General Assembly will deliberate some very important topics, first of all, the development issues of ENGSO, which will be decisive for ENGSO and its future work. We would expect  the  final  results  of  the  ENGSO  Development  Group  (EDG)  to  be  presented  at  the  next General Assembly 2007 for implementation.

It  was  also  decided  that  a  midday  session  of  an  EU  Pre-Seminar  would  be  held  on  Friday morning, May 5, from 9:30h until 15:00h, after which the Opening of the General Assembly would follow at 16:00h. After the Opening Ceremony, an Extraordinary General Assembly should take  place  with  the  aim  to  adopt  the  modifications  of  the  Statutes  and  accept  the  seat  of  the ENGSO to be redefined and set for CNOSF in Paris, as mentioned above. Thereafter, the ordinary GA should start and go on until about 18:30h the same day.

The whole of Saturday would be dedicated to General Assembly topics. Sunday morning would be left as a reserve for further GA and thereafter for departures, or some visits, when and if arranged by the Organizer.

So,  apart  from  the  only  item  on  the  Agenda  of  the  Extraordinary  General  Assembly,  being Registration  of ENGSO  in  CNOSF, other main topics to be discussed at the ordinary General Assembly are those following our Statutes, and furthermore:

-              Future Auditing Procedure of ENGSO (Art. 17)

-              EDG Report and Discussion about the Future

-              ENGSO Priorities 2006 - 2007

-              Improved Marketing of ENGSO (New Active Website,
            N
ewsletter, etc.)

-              Some concrete membership/partnership, etc. questions

-              Report and Proposals of ENGSO Youth and EU WG

-              Next General Assembly and Fora

-              Cooperation with European partners

The final Draft Agenda will be circulated after the next meeting of the ExCom in Paris.

We do expect all our members to be very active by sending their delegates, giving their
